Salon Safety-During Covid
The safety of our Staff and Clients is of upmost importance!
During your visit:

No guests or visitors are allowed unless receiving services.

Hand-washing upon arrival with warm, soapy water for a minimum of 20 seconds
will be required by stylists and clients. -
Masks must be worn by stylists and clients the entire visit. The salon has extra masks if needed, but we encourage you to bring your own.

Clean capes and aprons will be worn during visit.

Face shields must be worn by stylists during the shampoo session.

Disinfection of surfaces, tools, doors, bathrooms during and after each client will be adhered.

Payments can be made using CashApp, Paypal or Cash in sealed envelope (provided by salon, if needed). An invoice from Square can be emailed to pay as well to avoid use of tablet.

Appointments will be staggered to allow extra time with each client. Please DO NOT enter the salon until you are instructed by your stylist.

A Nu twist salon
Established in 2000 in Downtown Gainesville, Florida. Antoinette and her team of stylists have over 20 years combined experience in natural hair care and healthy hair. Working with many professional athletes, professors, doctors and graduate students from the University of Florida and the surrounding areas.
A Nu Twist Salon is one of Florida's premier multicultural hair salons. Specializing in cultivated locs, loc extensions, Sisterlocks©, protective styles, luxury wash and go services; natural hair care, healthy relaxed hair and expert color. Natural hair and education is priority. Stylist are continually trained with on new industry techniques.

Founded by Master Cosmologist and Loctician Antoinette Black, A Nu Twist Salon services North Central Florida and surrounding areas.. Antoinette also services clients in Atlanta, GA. A Nu Twist Salon and Crowns of Glory merged as Antoinette now pursues her career in film and TV.
Our staff takes pride in delivering exceptional services while educating our clients on how to care for their natural hair at home. Master Cosmetologist/Loctician and founder of A Nu Twist Salon; Antoinette Black was raised in North Carolina, with an educational background in Human Resources. Employment and Management which she obtained in Charlotte, NC She has lived and worked in NC, St. Louis, Arkansas and Atlanta. She continues her education in the hair industry still today. Her first prominent location was in downtown Gainesville on University Avenue for over 12 years. Antoinette obtained her Hair Braider Proctor Certification from the Florida Board of Business and Professional Regulations in 2007 and has since licensed and trained dozens of stylists in the area. She has hosted several Natural Hair Meetups and forums. Her passion for educating and mentoring women in her community and the natural hair industry into becoming entrepreneurs is what drives her to continue to grow. Antoinette works alongside an array of celebrities in the film industry in Atlanta. Her work has been featured in Film,TV and Print. She is a proud member of IATSE Local 798 and now resides in Atlanta.

A Consultation is required for all new Loc, Natural Hair, Extensions or Color Services.
These services may require a deposit at the time of consultation to secure an appointment where the duration is more than 3 hours. Prices may be higher than listed depending on the characteristics of your hair. All prices are subject to change, without notice or at the stylist discretion.
